CCA Teams Up with Make-A-Wish CT For August Fundraiser
The Connecticut Carwash Association's Board of Directors voted to endorse and support a "Wash Connecticut" fundraiser to benefit the local chapter of the Make-A-Wish Foundation(r). The vote was taken following a presentation to the board by Kim Smith, Development Manager for Connecticut Make-A-Wish.
The fundraiser is patterned after the successful WashUSA fundraiser which ran from 2001 through 2006 and raised more than $800,000 for Make-A-Wish. Participating carwashes will contribute a portion of their revenues from cars washed on August 18 (rain date August 25). Smith is rallying support from both the Make-A-W¹ish volunteers as well as its supporters to ensure extra cars washing at participating carwashes on the August 18.
"I have also contacted a number of corporations who want to partner in the event. Some may offer free product to be distributed to carwash patrons the day of the event, while others are simply getting all their employees to wash their cars on Wash CT Day!" added Smith.
Dan Petrelle, president of the CCA, stated, "We are pleased to be a part of this partnership with such a well-liked and well-respected charity. This should be a great event, especially given the effort being made by the local Make-A-Wish chapter."
