In this, my first President's Column, I would like to ask the
membership to fully support the Connecticut Carwash Association
(CCA). Our collective efforts will work in a way that will not only
strengthen our organization, but the individual operator as well.
Although it may sound cliché, there is definitely truth in the saying
"There is strength in numbers." Carwashes in Connecticut, and across
the country, will be facing several obstacles in the future. If we do not
stand united, many will face hurtles that may be difficult to overcome
individually.
Water scarcity, the search for qualified employees, and the evergrowing
presence of large conglomerates are just a few of
the impediments we face. If we allow ourselves to stand back,
observe, and not take action, the problems will not go away but
instead multiply. Although this may sound like a dire forecast, it need
not be. We must instead focus on the talents, skills and knowledge
that we have within our CCA community. Each and every member has
not only a right to contribute but actually a sense of duty to our
community.
Our CCA meetings are not only social gatherings (which is an integral
part of any community), but vehicles in which we can exchange ideas
and knowledge benefiting carwashes across our state. It is very
important that each and every one of us has an active role in
our association. I am hoping that as a CCA member you will contribute
to this vital exchange and help strengthen our association. I am
looking forward to seeing and speaking with each of you at our next
event on September 16 — our 11th Annual Golf Invitational at Tunxis
in Farmington. Thank you in advance for your help in making this the
best association ever!
If you have any questions or comments please feel free to email me.
