I write this Presidents Column post elections, with Barack Obama as the nation’s new leader. With any one or thing new comes change, some good some not so good. As small business owners we must come together, through the Connecticut Carwash Association (CCA) to achieve a better business environment in the state.
The State of Connecticut is facing a budget crisis, a shortfall of three to four hundred million for this fiscal year and a projected staggering one billion for the next fiscal year. Our lobbyist and friend, PJ Cimini, has forewarned us that the tax exemption status for carwashes may be in jeopardy. When you have such deficits anything can happen.
We are being extremely vigilant on this matter as a board. As operators we must support the CCA, not only with membership dues but also by attending our meetings and events. We cannot do this without you so please come to our events and show your support. It means a lot to allof us and it is greatly appreciated.
