FARMINGTON, CT — The rain held off and the temperatures couldn’t have been more perfect for a great day of golf for the Connecticut Carwash Association’s 12th Annual Golf Classic at Tunxis Plantation Country Club. Some 80 golfers hit the links at 11am with a shotgun start. “The weather was great and everyone had a good day of golf and catching up,” said outgoing CCA President Tony Setaro. “This event is always a winner for us.”
In addition to 18 holes of golf, lunch on the course and a steak and steamer dinner, the association voted in its 2009-2010 officer slate to include President Joe Tracy, Vice President Todd Whitehouse and Treasurer Noah Levine. The association also has three new board members including Jeremey Grossman, Ron Manning and Dione D’Occhio.
After dinner, event chairperson Todd Whitehouse ran an extensive raffle that included a cordless drill set sponsored by C.A.R. Products, Inc., a DVD player, digital camera, knife set, Tom Tom GPS, iPod Nano and various gift certificates and spirits.
The winning foursome consisted of Pete Laroe and Ray DeSilva of Personal Touch, Joe Farrell of Premiere Car Wash and Eric Sehl of Mighty Auto Parts with a -14. Ros Curtis took the Closest to the Pin award at hole 16 and Pete Laroe hit the Longest Drive on hole #5.
